Winter Wonderland

It's not Spring yet! Much as I wish it were! Yesterday morning, great big flakes of snow replaced the rain that had been falling. As they fell, they melted upon hitting the ground.

An amazing sight

This is what I woke up to this morning: nearly 4 inches of fresh fallen snow.

This is Tortie's snow cave, otherwise known as an ornamental grass weighed down with snow.

A perfect hiding place

Awww, serenity

My favorite of today's photos. If it has to be cold, at least it's pretty!

Thanks for visiting,

  1. Oh Beth it is all beautiful. We just got back from the mountains from vacation and had snow! It was wonderful! So pretty. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Makes me want to get mine loaded for viewing. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  2. That's what our world looked like on Sunday morning! Huge flakes and tons of snow as everyone else is talking spring I am afraid we are just starting our winter - no!

  5. Hi Beth,
Bet you were surprised when you got up this morning since it was seem to be melting earlier. Wow, it is really a beautiful sight. Love that your kitty has his own igloo to hide in, so cute! All the pics were gorgeous. So enjoyed them, and know you are enjoying the beautiful sigts.

  6. It is lovely to look at, Beth. The last shot is truly beautiful. The sky is so bright, in direct contrast to the one here!

  7. Hi Beth
Canadian bloggers are all showing the snow they received and here you are too! Have to admit, it's beautiful wintery wonderland scenery. I keep thinking about the snow we'll be coming back to and - coats, boots and the rest.

  8. All really cool pics Beth! Love that you could catch the flakes coming down:@)

  9. That is ABSOLUTELY beautiful!!!! Living where it never snows...I admit I am somewhat jealous of the snow!!!! I would like snow for about a week....then I would be ready for warm weather :-)

  10. Hi there Beth,
What a beautiful winter wonderland you have going there. Time for a cuppa?
I can't believe that tortoises can survive in that kind of! He must hibernate...? I do know that they are the longest living mammals on our planet, but in that weather...? And...with a cat?
Sending lotsaluv to you. Have a happy, happy day, my friend!
    ps Love your emails!

  11. What beautiful pictures Beth. It was 80 here yesterday but nice and breezy. I hate to see the heat come so soon here because before you know it we won't want to leave the A.C. I love all the beautiful flowers in your last few post too.

Have a fun weekend. Hugs...Tracy @ Cotton Pickin Cute

  12. Gorgeous pictures, Beth!!
    A Winter Wonderland!
I beleive I read a comment about you on Olivia's Chronic Pain Diary and you said you had IBS. If it was you, do you have any advise on how to curb some of the symptoms? I am on Bentyl and Probiotics and there are good days and bad days. If you have any words of wisdom to offer, I would greatly appreciate it!

  13. ahhh, yes, the snow is beautiful IF ya don't have to get out in it for long. :)
    Your photos are lovely.
    hugs, bj

  14. My friend 100 miles south had lots of snow also, we just had a little and the next one will probably go north of us... while it is very beautiful, I'm ok with just looking at pictures of your snow! Larry

  15. Beth, it's like a winter wonderland there! So, so pretty.

Amazing that spring will be here soon, isn't it?

  16. Beautiful! Loved seeing your pictures of the snow! We haven't had to much of that in our area this year! I am full go in seed starting and have a great time! Thanks so much for sharing your picture, sure does look different from the pictures I have seen in the past! Have a great day!

  17. Wow so much snow! I haven't seen more than maybe an inch of snow in YEARS! Southern Alabama...not too much of that white stuff around here!

  18. We are having the same confusing weather--first it seems like spring is here, and the daffodils are coming up, then a surprise snow in the night! Your kitty looks like she has a nice comfy place to stay warm. Linda

  19. Very pretty photos, Beth! We have not had any significant snowfall here in NYC this year, which more than makes up for all the record breaking snowfall we had last year. Of course the winter is not over, but I am hoping it continues to say mild.

  20. Wow, what a contrast to your more recent post! Yet, your place does look beautiful in snow.

I treasure comments and read each one. Hope you enjoyed your visit to Beyond The Garden Gate!
