The elk have returned to town; not OUR town, but the town of Estes Park, Colorado. The elk spend summers in Rocky Mountain National Park in the higher elevations, but as September begins, they come down into the lower elevations, and it's common to see them all over Estes Park.
Elk on the golf course - no, they won't allow you to play through.
A bull elk and a few females were at Town Hall recently. By the time we got into photo range, they'd moved to an adjacent park.
A female resting, but not for long...
"I'm coming for you...time to move along."
"Move along now."
"What are YOU looking at?"
More from our trip to Colorado next week...
