The Beauty of Primulas

I haven't grown many Primula in my garden - yet. But based upon the beauties I've seen on the blogs, I'm giving it strong consideration.

Perennial primula grow mostly in the spring. They are native to the northern hemisphere, south into Ethiopia, Indonesia, and New Guinea and in temperate parts of the southern hemisphere. Many species are adapted to alpine climates.

Below you will see some primula growing in a garden in Iowa. Aren't they beautiful?

Tea Time Tuesday

St. Patrick's Day will be here before we know it.

I'm serving French Vanilla tea - it's lovely with a splash of milk.

Our hostess for Tea Time Tuesday, Sandi, adores rocks. So I'm sharing these in Sandi's honor. Above, a cold water agate.

A fossil of a shell. My dad used to haul rock and he frequently found really neat rocks at the quarry. I was a rock collector in my youth, largely because of his influence.

An amethyst - not from the quarry. This is a semi-precious stone not native to Iowa.

Spring in the Dome for Fertilizer Friday
