This is why I garden

IF YOU ARE HERE TO VISIT MY "GROW YOUR BLOG" PARTY POST WITH GIVEAWAY, YOU WILL FIND THAT POST HERE.

It's not just the process, but also the result. Especially the result. That's what keeps me out in the garden on even the hottest summer days, moving about the garden, looking, critiquing, weeding, watering...

 Blackberries from our garden
We also grow red, black, and gold raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and rhubarb.
And, of course, vegetables and herbs
Lots of good things to eat here!

Lots of eye candy too:

I am constantly trying soil amendments to get those gorgeous blue hydrangeas. Mine are more purple than blue, though. Pretty too, but I won't quit trying!

I adore daylilies! One of my favorite flowers for sure.
Hemerocallis 'Inner Destiny'

 'Janice Brown'

 'Strawberry Candy'

 'Black-eyed Susan'

 Alliums

Cranesbill Geranium (I've forgotten the specific cultivar)

This is the David Austin rose 'Bishop's Castle.'

I love this picture. It was taken in someone else's garden, and I used this for my blog header at one time.

There's nothing quite like a daylily in my book. Beautiful!

THIS is why I garden!
Spring cannot come soon enough for this midwestern gardener!
