Blizzard of 2012

We're having a white Christmas this year, after a 12" snow last week. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful...

We got rain first, followed by snow. A lot of ice on the trees resulted in some broken branches (nothing major here at Sunsplash Gardens).

The black spruce is super pretty in the backyard. This has been such a nice "little" tree.

Is there anything prettier than a bright red cardinal in the snow?

I love all the light/shadow contrasts in this photo.

God's creation: I get so much joy from nature.

God's greatest gift, his Son Jesus. Happy Birthday Jesus! Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift.

Merry Christmas, everyone. It is my prayer that you have a wonderful Christmas and a New Year filled with peace, joy, hope, and good health.

A true winter wonderland Beth. We even got a bit of snow ourselves, and it sure helps with the ambience of the season.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas with a warm gathering of family.
Hugs,
Judith

The prettiest thing about snow is the incredible photos and you do best catching a Cardinal with a white backdrop. Have a wonderful Christmas Beth.

You definitely don't have to "dream" about a White Christmas since Mother Nature provided one for you! It's beautiful and you even managed to capture a Cardinal enjoying the snow! Merry Christmas to you and yours as we celebrate our Savior's birth!

Hi Beth,

Your pictures of the snow are absolutely beautiful. The ones with the cardinal are especially gorgeous. Have a blessed Merry Christmas as you (as well as my family and I) celebrate the birth of the King, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

HI Beth. Thanks for visiting!! So good to hear from you. Kam told us about the "ThunderSnow" which was a first for him, and would have been for me.... I missed it!!!! I knew it would be a blizzard and not just a pretty snow when he told us THAT! We never have had thunder and lightning going on with snow all at the same time in the South. An amazing contrast between here and NC for sure! We were wearing short sleeves in 60's degree temps... I DO love the Cardinals in the snow scenes. Nature's pop of red along with the holly and nandina bush berries ...so pretty. Wishing a Happy New Year for your nest, and looking forward to see all your Garden and photo posts and soon...puppy posts. :-) ((hugs)) xo

No, there's nothing prettier than a bright red {St. Louis!} cardinal among all that beautiful snow....

"Honey, would you turn down the air conditioner? It's getting a little too warm in here." Ocean breezes, palm trees, sandy beaches. Somebunny's gotta do it!

*wink*

{Happy New Year from Guam! Headed back home to Manila tomorrow...}
